These are your challenges:
- Responsibility for defining and monitoring standardized development processes
- Responsibility for technical decisions and mentoring junior engineers
- Development of digital, analog and mixed-signal circuits according to concept specifications
- Design and creation of circuit diagrams and PCB layouts with EDA tools (e.g. Altium Designer, KiCad)
- Selection and evaluation of electronic components taking into account availability and obsolescence
- End-to-end realization of hardware concepts: from schematic design and simulation to layout and external manufacturing support
- Construction of hardware prototypes as part of feasibility studies
- Commissioning, testing and debugging of hardware prototypes
- Carrying out electrical measurements with laboratory equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, multimeter, etc.)
- Practical activities for the construction of electrical test setups and prototypes (cable and connector assembly, soldering of SMD and THT components, handling technical documentation)
- Collaboration with software and mechanical engineering teams
- Support with EMC, CE and product qualification tests
- Documentation of the developed hardware and design decisions
What you bring with you:
- Degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics or comparable qualification
- Professional experience in hardware development
- Ability to develop well-founded, comprehensible proposals for solutions and to represent them convincingly even in the case of differing or opposing points of view
- Empathy as well as appreciative and team-oriented cooperation
- Active support of decision-making processes and willingness to assume professional and personal responsibility
- Competence in analyzing functional requirements and deriving precise technical specifications
- Experience in the planning, management and evaluation of certification, conformity and laboratory tests
- Extensive project experience with electronic products in various industries and application contexts
- Very good knowledge of relevant industry-specific and cross-industry norms and standards
- Sound knowledge and practical experience in development with FPGAs, including architecture design, implementation and verification (e.g. VHDL/Verilog) from the last 3 years
- Experience in the integration of FPGA-based solutions in complex electronic systems as well as in the interaction with hardware and software components
- Assumption of technical decision-making responsibility and active mentoring of junior engineers with a focus on sustainable knowledge transfer (no single point of knowledge)
- Very good written and spoken German and good English skills
