Certification of a hydrocarbon analyzer according to DIN EN 50271:2010
As part of the certification of a hydrocarbon analyzer in accordance with DIN EN 50271:2010 “Electrical apparatus for the detection and measurement of combustible gases, toxic gases or oxygen – Requirements and tests for warning devices using software and/or digital technology”, a derivative of DIN EN 61508 “Functional safety of electrical/electronic/programmable electronic safety-related systems”, kumkeo GmbH was responsible for the software and system test. On the basis of existing manuals, technical documents and expert interviews, the requirements elicitation and accompanying analysis were carried out and the test plan was drawn up. From the knowledge gained, a model was developed that allowed a subdivision into functional groups. Based on this, the test concept including test plan, test specification and test case chains was created. Based on this, test runs were carried out in the laboratory to demonstrate conformity with the standards. The successful test led to the award of the certificate.
